Reyna is a new duelist for Valorant added to the videogame as of Beta release. She is a Mexican vampire whose primary purpose is to harvest souls from her enemies. With the ability to blind the vision of foes, heal dramatically, turn invisible, and much more, it’s no wonder that players are going crazy over her.

Below, you can find the abilities in detail of Reyna, as well as tips on how to play her.

ABILITY: LEER

Reyna will mysteriously pull out a demonic eye and levitate it in her hand. Once deployed, it will travel a fixed distance of ten meters away unless thrown on the ground. You are not able to change the range of this ability. If enemies are looking at the glowing eye, their entire field of vision will be severely limited. The eye will stay in position for approximately two seconds before vanishing. Enemy players can shoot the orb to destroy it early, restoring their nearsighted vision.

Some tips & tricks:

Use this ability around corners before peeking, where an enemy is known to be, or common areas. It’s also useful to use it on-site to eliminate any protectors of the bomb site quickly.

You can place this ability high in the air, low on the ground, or just floating. It’s up to you, but be cautious of placement. If it’s high, it may not provide coverage in the desired area.

ABILITY: DEVOUR

Soul orbs drop on the ground after each kill that you earn. They last for three seconds, so you want to use Devour or Dismiss before the soul fades away. Devour will consume the soul orb, sucking the life out of those slain by Reyna. This ability will heal her very fast and will provide her with an overheal buff, which acts as extra health points or shields. If health and shields are full, there will be no bonus provided. If HP is at 89 and shields are at 27, you will be at 100 health 27 shields and 33 overheal. Eventually, this bonus will disappear, whether it’s taken from gunfire or time expiration. To maintain the healing process, Reyna must keep a line of sight with the soul orb; otherwise, the connection is broken.

Some tips & tricks:

When you kill an enemy, quickly look at your health and see if you should use Devour. If you know you took any damage, use this ability just in case, as we have all had moments where we are left at one health point after a battle.

ABILITY: DISMISS

Devour and Dismiss share charges of up to four uses. You receive one free charge each round, as Dismiss is Reyna’s signature ability. Instead of consuming the soul orb, Reyna cloaks herself. This ability momentarily makes her translucent and intangible. You can cancel this ability early by pressing the execute button.

Some tips & tricks:

If you are in combat with a large group and manage to kill one of them, it may be useful to use this ability to retreat quickly.

ULTIMATE ABILITY: EMPRESS

Reyna envelopes herself in a vampiric cloak forcing their enemies to cower. Everything becomes darker, and all enemies are lit up in a bright red, making sure you don’t miss them in your sight. Reyna’s firing speed, reload speed and equip speed is increased, giving you a significant advantage with most guns in a fight. While the ultimate is active, she can infinitely harvest soul orbs from her foes without taking charges. Devour will automatically trigger after each kill, and Dismiss will make you transparent and increase movement speed. Each kill will refresh the duration of the ultimate, essentially allowing it to last the entire round if played correctly. Empress will expire after thirty seconds without gaining a kill to feed the power.

Some tips & tricks:

After each kill, use Dismiss to be safe. You never know what enemies could be hiding around, and you can also use this ability to scout the area for intel. You can see enemies, but they can’t see you.

BONUS TIPS & TRICKS FOR REYNA:

Reyna is a potent agent, and some players are calling her overpowered. She may get a nerf in the future, but now, the only thing limiting her is player skill. If you are confident in your ability to frag out and pop off in the leaderboard, then Reyna is a perfect agent for you. Her abilities help her exceptionally well to face the enemy team fearlessly.

Do not have second thoughts about using Devour or Dismiss because you have up to four charges, which are more than enough to use against your foes. One second thought could cost your life in the round.
